The Felix Dextor Bursary/BBC Comedy Comissioning

Deadline: 12 June 2017

This bursary aims to make a positive intervention to address an under-representation of black, Asian minority ethnic professionals in comedy production and development in the broadcast industry. This training scheme will provide a unique opportunity to gain experience in the programme making world with access to top tier production facilities where participants can learn and hone their writing craft across radio comedy, television comedy, panel shows and comedy entertainment shows.

Taking Flight Festival 2017

Deadline: 1 October 2017

Red Dragonfly Productions are looking for new and emerging writers from British East Asian, South Asian and South East Asian communities who are interested in contributing and sharing their contemporary and traditional stories. Successful applicants will be invited to a free workshop and from that three applicants will be selected to have their plays produced and performed in their festival in July 2018. 

There will be a £1000 fee paid to each writer whose play is performed at the festival.
