Win a fat wad of cash; plus mentoring from a baying pack of comedy gurus at the Edinburgh Festival.

Who? E4 is launching a bright purple radio station soon - One that's up for a bit of fin and mischief, and for doing things differently.

What? We want your little bundles of glee; your little soundbites of delight. So we're looking for writers and performers who can turn their hand to the E4 style and attitude. We want something we haven't had before.

Where? If you spot a bright-purple upside-down cow in Edinburgh in August - we're in there. And so could you be, if you make us titter like a drunken granny.

We're giving 9 comedy writers and/or performers the chance to attend a series of high-level mentor-led workshops at the E4 Udderbelly at Edinburgh Comedy Festival.

At the end of the workshops, each of our 9 finalists will pitch to a panel (including an E4 Radio commissioner), and at least one person will be given a development budget and paired up with an appropriate production company to develop their idea for broadcast. The winning idea(s) will be broadcast on E4 Radio.

How? Simple enough: we want you to tickle us in places we didn't know we had. Just chuck us 3-5 minutes of your funniest stuff, or a few pages of your best scribblings. It doesn't matter what you use if you're recording it - your mobile, your laptop or that recording studio you have gathering dust in the basement - we just want your stuff.

The judges from 4Talent and E4 Radio are looking for 9 entrants with the most comic potential, originality and E4-style edge. You definitely don't need to be from a radio background: we're looking for entries from across the UK, taking in a healthy range of ages and experiences.
