In our first year we have published three online issues but due to the growing success of the magazine and its growing workload we're now going to move to two issues a year, to be published in November and May. We are currently closed to submissions whilst we put together our fourth issue which is due out on the 30th November 2009. Please check back soon for our next call for submissions or better still join our mailing list to be kept up-to-date.

We accept submissions of original fairy tales, in traditional short story format (max 3000 words) and in other formats such as poetry, flash fiction and comic strip. We are also looking for illustrators who are up for the challenge of working to a very tight deadline to produce illustrations for the chosen stories.

Please note that although we welcome works inspired by a love of traditional tales we are not looking for retellings or reimaginings. New Fairy Tales is working to promote the writing of a generation of new original fairy tales.
