It's all change with the Dark Tales Short Story Competition... It is now on a monthly basis starting with the next deadline of the end of June (we are having a break in May to do some catching up!). First prize is £100, £50 goes to the runner-up and third place will earn you £25. As ever, all other published entrants receive £5. Even more good news too: subscribers can enter for free.
1. UK residents can enter the competition either by post or online.
2. Non-UK residents can enter the competition online.
3. Non-UK residents are also welcome to enter the competition by post provided that the entry fee can be paid with a pounds sterling (UK) cheque.
4. Entry fee:
(a) Non-subscribers: The entry fee is £3 if you do not require a critique, £6 if you require a tick-sheet critique, £25 if you require a full critique.
(b) Subscribers: There is no entry fee for your first story, after which each entry is £3 per story. For all entries, each story is an additional £3 if you require a tick-sheet critique, and an additional £22 if you require a full critique. A special code will be sent to you when you subscribe, and this must be quoted with your free entry when you email it or post it. Failure to do so will disqualify your entry.
5. Each entry must be no longer than 5000 words.
6. Each entry must be the original, unpublished work of the stated author. Full copyright is retained by the author.
