World Audio Short Story Writer 2012

We are pleased to announce the World Audio Short Story Writer 2012 is now open for entries. Due to popular demand we are running a competiton which is open to writers anywhere in the world, and which has an open theme.

The winning World Audio Short Story Writer 2012 will:

1) have their story recorded and produced by a professional actor and producer. The story will then be broadcast on Short Story Radio;

2) receive a free author podcast produced by our sister site Talking Bookshelf. This will consist of an author interview about your work and excerpts from your winning story.

All recording and production costs will be paid by Short Story Radio, and so this combined prize is worth over £450. The judge is Ian Skillicorn, founder/producer of Short Story Radio and Talking Bookshelf, and the Director of National Short Story Week in the UK. The winner will be announced on the website on 29 April 2012.

Entry to the competition costs just £4 and is free to Writers' Club members.

By submitting your entry you agree to the rules and terms below:

2) the word count must be between 1500 - 2000 words;

3) stories must be written in English;

4) stories must be previously unpublished in text (including internet) or audio form;
