The Biscuit International Flash Fiction Competition 2010 - for short-short stories, with a word count of between 250 and 750 words - which remains open for submissions until September 14th 2010.

Before you consider entering your story, here is some food for thought!

Biscuit's annual competitions have run since 2001 and traditionally attract around 400 - 500 entries. 90 - 95% of those entries were of an extremely high standard, so - these are your odds for winning! Without doubt, Biscuit attracts the crème de la crème of writers.

What is flash fiction? Can you make every word count? Can you tell a story in between 250 and 750 words (title is not included!)? If so, Flash Fiction is for you! The First Prize is £1000, or your own collection or novella published plus £350 (and 75 copies of your book) - the choice is yours! In addition, there is a Second Prize of £250 and a Third Prize of £100. Seven runners-up receive £25 each. The top ten stories will be published in an anthology, and each author will receive three copies.
