Welcome to 247tales, the online writing competition that challenges you to t0 write short stories using 247 words or fewer.

The prize for the winning story is £75 worth of Bloomsbury Children’s books plus a framed copy of your winning story. The winning story will appear on the home page of this website and ten runners-up will receive signed copies of the guest author’s latest book and their stories will appear on the website as well. Rules

The competition is open to anyone aged between 8 and 16 and resident in the UK.

You can only enter one story every month (but you can enter each month).

Your story must be 247 words or less. Any entries over this word count will not be considered. Winners will be selected by a panel at Bloomsbury

Please make sure you include your name, age, address and a contact number or email address on your entry. Winners will be notified either by post or email.
