Hip Mama is a reader written zine. It is a beautiful, honest and daring of the readers who write for us that makes hip Mama what it is. There is power both in sharing your story and reading the honest words of someone else with an open mind and heart.

Hip Mama accepts written pieces from 250 to 1500 words.

The best way to submit is by emailing us at submissions@hipmamazine.com with your work as a word attachment. Please title your work with your name, and include your address (physical and email), what issue you are submitting the article for and a short (200 words or less) third person bio.

Note: We may slightly edit your piece for length or clarity. This may include your title.

We also always need black and white photos, illustrations and really any artwork that would look great in black and white, that are relevant to the hip mama world. E-mail us some jpegs. Naming your file with your name. If you would rather submit your portfolio for us to review feel free to send us your web address, flickr account etc.
