'The King's Speech' started life as a play reading amongst a small gathering of people passionate about their art. Plays are meant to be heard – and reading them out aloud and getting constructive feedback is an invaluable part of the developmental process.'

WORKING TITLE, Euphoric Ink's Autumn Masterclass is an intensive one-day workshop during which a small group of writers can share and develop work-in-progress scripts.

AT A GLANCE

  • You will have a 40-minute slot for sharing and hearing an extract of your play.
  • You will receive facilitated group feedback on your script – and learn how your script works in relation to an audience.
  • You will also develop your analytical skills by responding to other writers’ work.
  • You will discern practical techniques and approaches which you can apply to your own work.
  • You will also connect with a new network of playwrights, equally passionate and dedicated to developing their skills.
  • You will conclude your day with a 10-minute one-to-one tutorial with Ola.
  • And leave with a clear sense of direction and key action points for the writing of your next draft.

FURTHER DETAILS

This course is suitable for writers who have completed at least one draft of a work-in-progress play.

Prior to the workshop, you will be asked to submit the following:

  • A treatment or scene by scene breakdown of your play (maximum of 2 sides of A4).
  • The extract you wish to share during your slot.
  • Brief details regarding what stage you are in the playwriting process and how you hope to use your slot in order to help you progress.
