A cheeky chuckle escapes your lips as you hammer away at the keyboard, spurred on each time your character quips and puns his way through the narrative, until finally, after much blood and sweat and coffee, your script is ready. It’s pure magic, a virtuoso rollercoaster of sizzling hot satire, the drollest of dramas, a side-splitting saga of adventurous anecdotes.

The answer? The Circalit Comedy Coup! Circalit is proud to be once again helping talented comedy writers get their sketches produced and distributed. This time Circalit has teamed up with award-winning, all-round fantastic man/filmmaker, Jason Wingard. Jason has created a large variety of great pieces of comedy over the years, including his most recent short ‘Ben and Jackie’, (short-listed for the reed.co.uk Short Film Competition 2011). His team have a superb array of contacts at BBC North and with production companies throughout the country.

Jason is looking for hilarious, poignant and original pieces of comedy between 3-5 minutes in length, in a similar style (but in no way related to) Jason’s previous pieces.

So if you love to write comedy, and love the idea of your work making it onto the silver screen then submit your 5 page comedy screenplay now!

How the winner will be selected?

The top 10 shortlist will be selected using community feedback, comments and ratings (so get sharing!) Remember you can use the Circalit Widget to showcase your script on your blog or website, and you can ask other bloggers to do the same. The final winner will be selected by Jason.

Prize

The winning writer will have their script made into a short film by Jason Wingard

Rules

- Entries should be no longer than 6 pages long.

- No-one involved with this process will be making money out of the film - it's a fantastic opportunity for you as the writer to gain exposure and a writing credit which in years to come may be very precious indeed!

- The Winner will be contacted by email using contact details supplied on Circalit.

- If required, Jason will adapt, modify and make any changes to the winning script necessary to make it film-ready.

- The Winner will get a credit on the opening screen.
