All you have to do is write no more than 500 words on a Christmas theme to be in with a chance of winning.

The winner will have his or her story immortalised in a WalesOnline video with original illustrations by MediaWales designers PLUS a £30 voucher from leading high street bookseller Waterstone's. Two runner-ups will each receive a £10 Waterstone's voucher.

Shortlisted entries will be judged by acclaimed children's author, Welshman Phil Carradice, (pictured) writer of The Bosun's Secret, The Pirates of Thorne Island, Hannah Goes to War and Black Bart's Treasure.

The winning story will be read out in our Media Wales studios in Cardiff - complete with illustrations - and videoed for WalesOnline. It will be posted on the site in time for Christmas - and as well as getting your own special copy of the video you'll also get to keep the illustrations.
