Happy 2012, writers of the world! We're starting the year in high gear with a classic contest for you feature screenwriters. You know how the first ten pages of a feature script are considered "the only ten pages"? It's true! If you don't grab the reader by the first ten, the chances of your script getting made are greatly reduced. So we're highlighting the importance of your opening pages in our new contest:

Give us the first ten (10) pages of a feature film script. This script can be any genre, any style or theme, anything. Read over these pages, read them out loud, show the pages to others and get notes, it's good practice.

Additionally, please include a one or two-sentence logline at the start of the script for context (like at the top of page one). Loglines are usually provided to industry readers in some form prior to their reading the script, so it's only fair that a logline be included here for consideration.

Writer of the best ten pages will win $250 -- think of how much fancy coffee you can buy with that dough! Three lattes at least! Yum. Deadline for entries is January 31st! FREE submission for Scripped PRO subscribers, $15 entry for everyone else. As usual, there is no limit on number of entries per writer.

Scripped is now offering optional feedback on your submitted scripts for only $10! And you can never have enough feedback :)
