I feel very fortunate to be able to spend my life creating stories, meeting lovely people and doing work that I love. I therefore try to repay this by giving to a specific charity each year.

I have celebrated the launch of my novel by organising a short story competition with the aim of raising much-needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Details are as follows:

‘FABLE’S FORTUNE’ SHORT STORY COMPETITION

Create a story in 1000 words on the theme of ‘Forbidden Fruit.’

Prizes: £100   £50   £25

Judge: Sue Johnson

Entry fee: £5.00 (cheques to be made payable to S Johnson)

Stories should be double-spaced and printed on one side of the
paper. Please enclose a cover sheet giving your name and contact
details and the title of the story.

Entries will be returned if you enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
