What happens at a London Comedy Writers meeting?

A typical meeting comprises a table read of one sitcom and three sketches (or a comedy short) with a half-time interval. After each piece has been read, members are invited to offer their feedback to the writer. At the end of this discussion the writer may respond to the collective feedback. The scripts we read at each meeting are pre-selected, so please email us to get in the queue, rather than bringing unexpected material on the night.

There’s no pressure to contribute material until you feel ready and you are likely to pick up tips and advice by just listening to the critique of other scripts. Meetings are free and you do not need to let us know you’re coming. Everyone is welcome and there's no expectation to actively participate.
